Christmas has a certain magic when seen through the eyes of a child.

It’s historical origin of course was in the birth of a child.

That magic can disappear (from my own recollections) sometimes around 7 years old when
Santa meets reality.

As adults it is so easy to get caught up in the highs and lows of a year and this year has certainly
had its share of those. It’s a good time to let the troubles of the year fall away as well as any
words of impatience in the inevitable rush to Dec 25.

If you are lucky enough to have small children in your circle this Christmas, then enjoy the
simplicity of the day that they see. Even if you don’t, and even if your own memories are not
entirely happy, it may still help us all find our inner child – a reminder that huge wealth is not
needed to be happy, just the surprise and security of being remembered and valued for who we
are.

Wherever your Christmas may be, whatever and whoever it may contain, I would like to wish the
very best for you and all of your families this holiday period.

Merry Christmas,

Alan Heath
